There was never a "great fire" downtown, except a few buildings becoming toast.
The beauty of some older demolished buildings is utterly astounding. We had quite a few architectural gems.
A check through old Hamilton pictures can bring a tear to anyone who loves this city.
Typical Hamilton, tear down that old beautiful building at King & Hughson, then replace it with a box, a shorter box.
