Yup. The Renaissance Cars were originally built to be used for a proposed Nightstar overnight service through the Chunnel, but the project got cancelled before the trains were finished. VIA bought them at a discount and finished construction in Canada, modifying them for use in North America. They have been a disaster ever since.
