stumbled upon this image of an advertisement for the building that was in the location before kreskys - at 1849 this may very well be the oldest image of that building around - it shows beautiful architectural details that would have made it a good bookend to the right house

interestingly the front of this building originally faced king william - putting it also as a bookend to the baltimore house, and showing an extension that would have run along king william st..



you know what I would love? For someone to do a 3d reconstruction of downtown hamilton at various times in history, and make a model off it, and display it somewhere like city hall - you could do early 1800s, when it was all wood, then after the great fire when stone buildings replaced it, then when it all got dilapidated, and then now as everything is being restored.
