Not anymore my friend - that proposal died in 2012. They were also proposing to destroy the underground in the process of building that park.. which is retarded as it's a thriving business..
According to hamilton's revised secondary plan - the new park proposal is at hughson and rebecca (green shaded is future park, pink is municipal surface parking lot)
You can see the comparison here - this one makes much more sense, as this area is a grand focal point, and the other one is more tucked away. It's also one of the only spots that takes up an entire block.
