Here’s our first look at a new 300-room hotel with floors of retail and entertainment amenities planned for Midtown’s bustling 34th Street corridor. Chetrit Group and Cornell Realty spent years putting together a wide development site at 251-263 West 34th Street near the corner of Eighth Avenue. Last year Crain’s reported that the parties dissolved their partnership and split the parcels taking 80 feet of frontage each. Cornell is planning a four-story retail building on its half of the site and Chetrit is planning the retail and hotel tower shown above for its portion at 255 West 34th Street.
