There's no reason to feel bad for Windsor, it's doing well economically with one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country at 5.2%, and it is also one of the safest cities in the country. Being next to Detroit ( which is booming right now) is a huge plus for Windsor and Essex County, we get to enjoy all of the perks of having a metro of 4.5M right across the river without having to deal with the negatives.
It's interesting that some people still have absolutely no clue as to what Detroit is like now, it's like night and day compared to a decade ago!
As for drugs, most of the busts have been thugs from Toronto coming down here, not from Detroit, pretty ironic, isn't it?

I would have not problem living in Windsor. Plus the international border keeps the criminals away. But is Detroit really booming? I know the downtown has gotten better, and perhaps Midtown and Corktown are doing okay, but last time I went there a year and a half ago, I felt like the rest of the city was quite rundown and hopeless.
