Looks like no, in my non-expert opionion. There might be updates pending, but Alberta's flood hazard maps (see
http://maps.srd.alberta.ca/floodhazard/) show that substantially all of east village is in some kind flood fringe, but substantially none of west village is. Just tiny-width strips of the riverbank.
