Only scenario that makes sense to me is that all Northbound trains use the centre track so that people going from Baseline to Bayshore or vice versa could get off on to whichever platform is dedicated to that direction. Seems more confusing, though, and I don't think there would be enough volume to justify dedicated platforms for that purpose.
