Target plans a store in an apartment tower under construction in Hyde Park, continuing the expansion of its smaller-store concept.
The retailer said today that it will open a 21,000-square-foot store in the Vue53 apartment tower under construction at 53rd Street and Kimbark Avenue.
The store will be the fifth smaller “flexible format” store Target has opened or plans in Chicago. Target has 19 total smaller stores, previously marketed under the CityTarget and TargetExpress names, and plans another 18 in the next two years, the retailer said.
