i often both agree and disagree with kamin's articles, but i usually find them informative and thought-provoking, even when i think his conclusions are off.

to call him the "sorriest excuse for an architecture critic" seems like ridiculous hyperbole to me.

as for the balcony issue in general, i would never live in a highrise unit that did't have a balcony. i simply MUST have a place to grill my meats. i've lived in two highrise units over the course of my life. both of them had balconies. it's a non-negotiable thing for me, whether it's the 7th floor, the 33rd floor, or the 98th floor. meats must be grilled.
