Why is anyone surprised that a bunch of tech people from Silicon Valley wouldn't like Northern Utah County? Taking people from one of the most progressive areas, both technologically and politically and plop them down in the middle of one of the most colloquial nutty anti-guvmint regressive backwaters in the country. Of course there's going to be a rub.

I lived in Northern Utah County for 7 years and the voters in Utah County voted against a transit infrastructure Sales Tax in 2000 with 77% of voters voting no. I know the mindset of Utah County.
