I agree that the extension of the downtown grid isn't necessary and perhaps should be discouraged because the area is not really CBD at all. It's a dense and tall, sure, but it's also a residential oriented, walkable neighborhood that is adjacent to downtown. Downtown has more hotel and commercial property.
