The 1942 city directory has a listing for IBM. The view out the window is looking north from an upper floor of 1670 Wilshire Blvd. The sign says "Hotel Barbara" which was at 1927 W. 6th Street. Sometime around 1950 it was renamed the "Hotel Barbizon."


The IBM building on Wilshire was built in 1937 according to the assessor and redone in 1950. I imagine it looked better in 1937 that it does today:


Still in the technology field, it seems. Will think some more about the sign in the foreground of e_r's inset.
