For my part, I'm very happy with this thread. Checking in here is a daily appointment for me, and I read each post eagerly.
I imagine the objection must have to do with a gradual broadening of the scope here. I guess we exhausted the ready sources of noir photographs and information some time ago, so new information has gotten hard to find.
It seems only natural, then, that the scope should broaden to include the history of the entire LA area, with emphasis on the built environment, of course. I would certainly hate to see the thread end; we're having way too much fun!
I'm truly sorry you've had to deal with this, and I hope these incidents prove to be isolated.
