The wife and I looked at the house that was there before when it was up for sale 2 years ago. The lot was 10,500 square feet but the house was garbage & we didn't have the funds to fully renovate a $400,000 house, regardless of the excellent location and lot size. Well it looks like someone saw the potential in it and it making the most of it. The new home fills almost the entire lot from end to end. I'm not usually a fan of Usonia's square block homes sticking out like sore thumbs in character neighbourhoods, but this is a great design and a good use of a lot that was otherwise wasted by a 1950's low cost home. Land in and around that Kinsmen Park area is definitely becoming higher in demand. |
That thing has been under construction going on two years, I think. As slow as Usonia normally is, I am surprised it's not finished yet!
And yeah, it's really big and really nice. It has a basement garage (I think), so the main floor seems to be almost half the lot. That house could possibly be 4,000-6,000 square feet or more, including the second floor. Crazy.
