The fact that Westmount Developments is run by an ex-Monctonian is certainly a bonus!! I approve of his vision for this property on the southwest corner of Main and Vaughan Harvey.

We now have several large properties surrounding the proposed events centre location which are primed for development:

- Westmount Developments on the SW corner of Main/Vaughan Harvey
- Crombie REIT on and behind the Terminal Plaza site
- The Aquilini Group on the Crowne Plaza block

There is also likely something brewing for the old Coast Tire location too.

Some people wonder if we can afford to go ahead with the events centre project. I would prefer to think of it in terms of can we afford to not go ahead with this project......

a $120M investment in the events centre could very well unlock $200-250M of private investment in surrounding developments. This would forever change the face of the western end of the downtown core.....
