Proposed design of Cleveland convention hotel will be unveiled next week

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The first designs for the planned Cleveland Convention Center hotel will be unveiled next week, as Cuyahoga County Council wades through the complexities of a $260 million project meant to boost business at the city's new downtown events complex.

Five months after County Executive Ed FitzGerald announced that the county would put together the development, consultants are putting some meat on the building's bones. Cooper Carry, the Atlanta-based architecture firm designing the hotel, expects to present schematic designs at a Tuesday council meeting. This week, a county consultant provided some basic outlines and financial projections for the project, which will be publicly owned and privately managed by Hilton Worldwide.
