Agreed. Although when Canadian Forces Base London was in full swing and was still home to a full-strength infantry battalion, the train tracks that now run just south of Oxford Street and intersect Adelaide Street North made sense. That's because the tracks ran all the way to the military supply depot that existed on Highbury Avenue (and to points eastward). It made for a really convenient way for the military to get troops and materiel on trains in a hurry.
But now that the supply depot is gone, and there are no businesses in east London that need to access those tracks (apart from GM Diesel, maybe), there seems to be no need for any train tracks at all in that part of town. Why don't CN and CP rip up that line, and move it either much further north (or south)?
