More or less. It's an island (actually islands), but not a "Godforsaken rock". It's a super popular vacation place (gorgeous sandy beaches all around the place and nice summer weather), so the locals are mostly fed up with the hordes of invading tourists. And mainland Québécois buying second homes there have driven the prices up to the point the locals are having a hard time getting homes.

In winter though there's nothing to do there -- the flat islands are always windswept and the windchill is atrocious. The yearly variation in population is insane (very populated in summer, house-bound locals only in winter).
