Even if that's true, you have two eyes and you can tell those homes have been kept up far better than a great deal of the cheap apartment complexes in the city. So, even if these people are just renting - the fact the houses haven't fallen into total disrepair tells me everything I need to know.
For what it's worth, everything I've found on these homes makes me want to keep 'em more. Take that small cottage in the photo I posted - it was built in 1896.
Most those homes were built in the very early 1900s.
The fact they're as in good of shape as they are is impressive - especially when you factor in the neighborhood.
