Yeah, they broke ground, but only on two buildings. There are like 18 buildings planned, if you add in the stuff across Flatbush owned by Ratner and the stuff across Atlantic (but AY proper is 15 buildings, I think).
And I doubt it will take 20 or 25 years to build everything. That was a possible bad-case estimate given by the developer, and the NIMBYs (of course) got all mad (first they were mad anything was being built, now they're mad things aren't being built fast enough; you could never satisfy them).
