I'm not sure that there's any prestige left in having a 1000' skyscraper in your city. Maybe back in the 70's that was an impressive status symbol, but not today.

A supertall should be in the top 20, which would mean a tower of at least 1261', at least for now. There are something like 30 towers under construction that are taller than 1261'.
