This pipeline in particular is not a topic about which I'm obsessed; although, I have read some material -- and my understanding was that portions of forest would have to be cleared for new, modernised pipelines.
In any case, the removal of forests is secondary to my concerns about our issue of continued usage of fossil fuels. Burning that additional carbon is the more influential danger.
My original request remains: What do you mean by less environmental harm?
