The jog is at the intersection of Venice & Hope. The car dealer--once Dodge, by 1947 apparently Oldsmobile--is now Honda of Downtown Los Angeles at Venice and
Figueroa; across Venice from it is a low-slung Toyota dealer where the pedimented building now stands. The old building does look like it could have been a market at
one time; the car dealer at 1600 S Figueroa (seen in the picture below, selling Flints) is now part of the Toyota dealer; it looks like that building was extended back to
replace the old building...maybe it even contains some of its parts. Check out the aerial view below...
The Toyota dealer appears to be an old building with a new false front. I placed some dotted lines where the original roof is still in place. Mr. Ethereal Reality is going to check this out. Most appreciated..![ I see Ethereal added a new photo...cool.]



The orange arrow is the direction the viewer sees the old building with the new facade. It seems to be the old Flint Motor Cars building from the 1920s.
