Well I'll be damned. Every single time I've been along that section of road, I've always been trolled by long queues and always thought to myself "this should be an autoroute from Ottawa to Sudbury. Why are they not working on this?"

I actually found traffic dropped off around Mattawa, but started to pick up again around Rutherglen. The section between North Bay and Sudbury is nothing short of intolerable.

A new 4-lane segment of Highway 26 in Ontario opened to traffic last week between Collingwood and Wasaga Beach. I took these photos before construction was completed back in September but they are the best that I have.
