And that's fine, because Montreal right now doesn't need new tallests, it needs to fill the gap between the top 5 and the rest of the highrises. We need more infill, more highrise density. And we're finally getting it...bring it on!

Absolutely! Montreal needs to build multiple highrises which will eliminate downtown surface parking lots instead of a few very tall tower whose impact on street level experience will be limited. That being said, the projects recently announced will indeed have a somewhat important impact on the skyline when observed from St-Lambert. The development of the westen side of the skyline is particularly apparent. On the following picture, I added (very approximately) some of the said projects on the west side. Other eastward projects (which I haven't added) might actually be visible from that angle (Altoria, Altitude, SNC-Lavalin, Cité Internationale, etc) but their effect on the skyline will be more limited.
