They are the studio anchors whose job is to introduce a story and somehow make the transition from the "police beating protesters" story to the "How many more sunny days will we we get this week?" discussion with the weatherguy, and the "wow! they've won another game" intro to the sports segment.


The BBC called those positions 'Presenters' for a reason.
If we're going that route, might as well say TV news in general is a dinosaur. The day of an anchor person being important/trusted etc. are over.

Tamara Taggart will always be "the Canucks girl" to me - she filled the role currently held by Dan Murphy.
