I think the tunnel plans are impossible because of the geography.
You're talking about about a tunnel that starts in Vancouver, goes under False creek, the West End, Stanley Park, First Narrows, then under the ground up the North Shore. The part under Stanley Park in particular would have to be super deep. Think about how high Propect Point is above the water, and you're going to build a tunnel below the bottom of the narrows and then it will rise and go up the hill? The grade changes in this tunnel would be crazy!
