The way you people on here make it seem is that this "hipster" term is bad.
I for one don't wear that style but I definitely don't discriminate people from what they wear and don't use that excuse to avoid a certain party or concert venue that has people dressing like that. What the hell is wrong with people these days!?

thats not whats i am saying or trying to say but if you go to a certain place you will see certain people and it is well known that hipsters are incliced to be found at a place like the biltmore more so than venue night club etc.
as long as i have been going out in vancouver since the early 90's vancouver has always been a scene kind of place - i followed the goth set a lot so i was used to them - but bascially monday night you go to Club A and you see these people and than on tuesday you go to Club B and you see the same people, and it goes on the same the whole week - they follow the scene they like and they stick to it - its pretty well known - most of the clubs I knew are gone but back in the day if you went to luv affair on a thursday for instance you would see a certain crowd you go to Luv Affair the next night and its a completely different crowd and so on and so on - the crowd would go to wherever whatever venue cause they knew CLub x would play this kind of music on that night and that the next night it would play music they don't liek so they avoid it
its just the way it is - and I have spoken to people from out of town who don't get it - they come to visit and they said I had the best night of my life last night at this club and tonight just blows
I can go out and know where to go and predict pretty much accurately who i will see as everytime I go i see them - myabe thats why outsiders say vancouver people are so cliquey and not friendly I don't know - its very scene driven
