My father works at that plant, I just heard about it today from him.

He'd been saying he thought this might happen the last couple of weeks... I guess the cost overruns on moving this plant to Mexico were getting pretty enormous (already 5-6 times over initial estimates) and they hadn't even started training. Couple that with the fact that the Portland plant is the most profitable Freightliner plant in the US...

Regardless I firmly believe that the main reason this happened was because of the collapse of the dollar over the last couple months, making it MUCH more expensive to import.
