i think these "visits" to family members, neighbours and workplaces are forms of intimidation. there are many ways to get info and we do not here this about drug dealers or car thieves. just about people who do not like the olympics.
and now that the laws regarding the police's right to know what you are surfing on the internet is changing..... i can see the opportunity for abuse of power

Trust me when I tell you that the police do come to neighbours when they feel certain individuals on the block are involved in illegal activities, be it brothels, drugs etc... So this is no different.
Peaceful protest bring them on, defacing public property, breaking and threatening business and individuals that support the Olympics not so much and they are getting the proper attention that I feel they deserve.
