The use of "cock fighting" is from the negative point of view, it doesn't mean it's fact. Sort of the same as saying hockey is a swarm of bees bashing into each other. When people say things like that, obviously there's something they don't like about the sport. If you're a fan of the sport, you certainly don't see it that way.
