The dumb thing about this article is that it lumps all of the Olypmi Village debt into one pot and suggests that the City is liable for all of it.
The City is owed $160 million for the land and may loan up to $100 million (exact figure not known).
That's $260 million (plus lost interest earned) - whereas the article tosses much larger figures around ($800 million). It's articles like these - on the front page of the Vancouver Sun no less - that mislead the public.
