I have a great good news story.
I commented in this thread on the day of the second chance purchase about an incident I had getting errors and the ticket website crashing as I attempted to complete a purchase of a couple of tickets after failing to get anything from a pretty large request during the initial lottery and after waiting for over an hour in the "virtual waiting room."
Well, last week I had spoken to a representative to follow-up on the "we got your message" confirm email they had sent regarding my query. The representative on that call was extremely nice but essentially had explained that all the systems had been overloaded the morning of the remaining ticket sales and even representatives such as herself had encountered errors at times when trying to process phone orders from callers on their understandably jammed phone lines. She was apologetic but explained my order had not processed completely and no tickets had been allocated to me for the event.
I had half-way expected that response since I knew the system had failed prior to providing a final confirmation.
Well, out of the blue, I received a call yesterday from a supervisor who confirmed the basics of my original email and actually re-processed my order for the event during our call. I was truly impressed my report had not simply been closed based on my conversation with them last week. Either the representative I had spoken with last week had escalated the issue or they had a system in place to review all the issues raised to do what they could to resolve them. The supervisor explained they do have a small buffer for just such circumstances so he was able to secure two tickets to the event I had been attempting when the errors occurred.
He provided me a confirmation during our call, and I received an email confirmation within minutes of our call. Now I can log into the ticket account and see our two tickets.
I never thought I could be so happy getting 2 standing area tickets for a preliminary alpine event I've only ever seen on TV on occasion. I'll probably be an expert on all the competitors by the time the day arrives ; ).
I just wanted to share our experience, and give kudos where due. The ticketing team turned a very disappointing experience into an amazingly positive one for me.
