my comparisons and contributions are completely valid and I think informative.. both cities are growing, and changing. In a lot of respects in opposites.. Where as Salt Lake has the Urban presence, and infrastructure, light rail, historical presence, and is now working on creating vibrancy in its downtown... where as boise has vibrancy but is now itching for the infrastructure to support it... I would like to see downtown salt lake section off parts of downtown more into districts so that when more residents live downtown.. they will still have a sense of community within that downtown district.... That is how you make living in an urban environment appealing to people who are use to suburban living... there were studies done here in boise about living downtown.. and a majority of people actually wanted to get rid of their cars, and live near culture and venues etc, but they feared losing their sense of community by living in a city...
