City hall is brutal. Councillors have no vision beyond their next paycheck and city staff are comfortable with their well-paying jobs doing the least amount of work possible. That's the main reason they support BRT over LRT. Less work, less hassle. Oh ya, and less redevelopment, less transit users, less tax assessment growth etc.... they don't care though. It's all about not having to work too hard tomorrow.
