Well I must say I am VERY disappointed. Although the skyline may actually be improved if First Canadian Place, Scotia Bank and Trump aren’t so close in height. The Trump project in Chicago is 92 stories (415m, 1,362 ft) sold quite quickly and is well under construction even though it was announced later than Trump Toronto. I wonder if this has implications for Shangri-La and Bazis, both of which have a very high end condo component. Trump was the only tower I am aware of that offered such high ceilings. Bazis for example is pulling some slight of hand. The earlier 60 storey project has been revived with an 80 storey building of the same height. It’s kind of like the suburbs where the developers squeeze more houses on a street by making the lots narrower. Bazis is doing the same thing by reducing ceiling heights in his proposal for 1 Bloor East.

Well as far as Trump goes, I guess council could say no, but that’s not very likely is it?

Quote from Emporis Buildings re: Trump Chicago "The building was originally planned with a large office section on the lower floors, but sales of the residential portion performed so well that the office floors were dropped from the plan."
