Law Firm Pre-Leases Six Floors in 155 N. Wacker Tower
Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP to Take 165,000 SF; John Buck Co. to Break Ground on 46-Story Tower This Summer

The law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP & Affiliates pre-leased about 165,000 square feet in the proposed office tower at 155 N. Wacker Drive in downtown Chicago.

The law firm will occupy six floors in the 46-story, 1.1 million-square-foot building, which will sit at the southeast corner of Wacker Drive and Randolph St.

Elaine Melonides, Brad Balson and Dan McCarthy of Jones Lang LaSalle handled the deal for Skadden. Drew Nieman and Kevin Morgan represented the developer, The John Buck Co., in-house.

The John Buck Co. plans to break ground on the project this summer, with occupancy expected in July 2009.

The tower has been pre-certified at the Silver level under the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. It will feature a two-level underground parking garage for tenants, and state-of-the-art conference and fitness centers.

A partnership of JBC Funds, Morgan Stanley’s Prime Property Fund and Brijus Properties owns the building. Goettsch Partners is designing the project. A bank syndicate led by Bank of America, LaSalle Bank and Helaba is providing construction financing.
