^Okaay, So at the foothills or base Utah for the most part probably has us beat, but once your in the mountains? no question we have Utah beat...

I agree somewhat with you on the San Juans, but if you head west into the mountains from Denver toward the Resorts, or in your case east on I-70, trust me BREATHTAKING! to say the least. Take that drive sometime if you ever come out here and visit, I would put that against ANY Canyon Drive in Utah ANY DAY. No comparison... Oh just make sure your vehicle can handle the "little hills"

Hello! I am fully aware of the fact that Utah's mountains seem to go straight up, and hey that's cool they are great, but I don't like how "compact" and "inclosed" Utah's Wasatch Front is. To each thier own, I am in NO WAY implying that Utah's or Colorado's mountains are better or worse then eachothers!
all I was simply saying originally is that there are other cities next to mountains that are just as impressive... What the heck is the deal???
This CITY MOUNTAIN backdrop is 10X's more impressive IMO...
But the pics of those "other peaks" that Wasatch has posted of the Utah's Towering Peaks blow away almost anything I could think of here in Colorado as far as "being next to a city" point of view. Excluding the one with SLC in the background, we all know that little "hill" wrapping around the North Back side of SLC is WEAK! just like you claim Denver's are. So thier you have it... Both places and Cities are very nice and the Mountains compliment both Denver and Salt Lake City very well. Why else would everyone want to live in these places? Were all very fortunate indeed...
In all honesty and fairness Utah's mountain backdrop for SLC, they are right there! and they appear to be higher in "some" places than in Denver. But that might be hard to judge due to that fact that downtown SLC sits on the foothills. Denver? is 16 miles East of our "foothills". Big difference, and one I appreciate... I prefer the latter. But hey I have to admit Utah looks pretty damn good too. It's not that bad really, it just isnt for me... I like the southern parts of Utah and all of the Ntl Pks, or as i like to say your natural playgrounds are pretty cool.
Are we on the same level? or am I just banging my head against a wall here??? Good GOD enough said! this subject is DEAD...
