Would be cool if the Province would fund the SFU Gondola too, but that still hasn't happened.
In a true fantasy world, it would be great if Canada could establish a domestic gondola / ski lift manufacturing capacity. We already have domestic know-how for maintaining them, but whenever they break down ski resorts (or transit agencies of the future) need to source parts from Europe or Asia.
