It's a far more risky and fantasy choice for a city that has a functional station already.
If it has to be tunneled it will have to be longer than 2km due to csst (22-30 deep at waller/Nicholas), LRT and general conditions of that location, and your forgetting that it's not just tunneling the station requires a cavern. Which would put it under DND HQ or the canal.
The first phase per there plan was San Francisco to las Angeles the fact that is been years with little completion that you think it goes nowhere kinda makes my point.
