The reality is Chipman helped build this team. He's not firing anybody for the roster construction. Chipman was working on convincing Toews to play here since he left Chicago. Best we can hope for is that Chevy gets promoted to president of hockey ops, and a new GM is brought in. But thats an off season move, not one you make in January.

I get tired of the arguments that the young guys aren't impressing in the AHL so they shouldn't be promoted. Chibrikov really impressed in the NHL last season. Back on the Moose. Salomonson continues to impress in the AHL and looked promising in his short NHL stint. Back on the Moose. In contrast can you really say any of Pearson, Koepke, Toews, Nyquist, Schenn, Miller, Fleury, or Comrie are performing so well they deserve a spot in the NHL? If we're going to play guys that are underperforming I'd rather it be ones that might just need some time to get their legs going in the NHL before we get a real upside out of them.
