A 5,000-unit housing project could be coming to Quebec City.

The closure of the former La Baie department store is paving the way for residential densification of the Galeries de la Capitale site. Its owner is considering selling lots to a prominent Quebec City developer who plans to build 5,000 units in several phases, La Presse has learned.
