Even on ROQ the height is oriented towards Richmond, and it steps down to a 2-storey frontage on Queen (not very successfully I might add, but at least it's the intent):
And it's replacing a large, empty corner lot (former car dealership/industrial uses) rather than being built mid-block into an otherwise cohesive, narrow-frontage low-rise commercial block. It's not that low-rise and high-rise can't coexist in close proximity; it's just that 333 Queen does it poorly on an inappropriate site.
