The city doesn't help here with its incredibly restrictive zoning, its stretched out approval timelines (which there now hiding in pre-consultation) and the litany of charges the city brings to bear on infill development specifically extras like community benefit charges, & parkland dedication fees. (Something "progressives" continues to defend.)
All of which increases the cost of an also expensive building form.
The province also needs to fix the building code by adopting more European standards (single stairs, elevator size, elevator requirements).
Also, this might have been built already if Leiper and locals didn't continually fight intensification.
