Dirt is moving on a new $200-million development as part of the Crosswinds Casino and Resort in Park City, located north of Wichita.

Officials from the Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma broke ground Thursday on a new 15-story hotel and casino expansion, which will feature 238 new rooms with 32 suites, food and beverage offerings, a pool and bar, and an 8,500-square-foot ballroom.

The casino floor will also be expanding from 22,500 square feet to 42,000 square feet with more than 1,400 slot machines. Other amenities include a high-limit room, VIP lounge, a Tap House and sports bar concept, a food hall, coffee shop, center bar, gift shop and rewards center.

The project is expected to create 350 new jobs, bringing the total number of employees at CrossWinds Casino in Park City to 600. Wyandotte Nation operates three other casinos in Oklahoma and in Kansas City, Kansas.

The expansion of the casino represents an opportunity for the Wyandotte Nation to enhance its economic standing and support its needs and cultural heritage, Chief Billy Friend said in a statement.

Memphis-based HBG Design is the architect on the project, which is anticipated to open by the summer of 2027. It will be one of the largest construction projects moving forward in the region.

The new hotel and casino will be constructed by Crossland Construction on a 10-acre parcel just southwest of the existing casino.
