McLaren Health Care officials announced plans to build a $53.6 million ambulatory care and orthopedic center in Bay City, setting their sights on treating the first patients in summer 2026.

The planned two-story facility at McLaren Bay Region’s West Campus on Midland Road will measure 50,000 square feet, officials said. McLaren Health Care leaders first revealed plans to build such a facility in October 2024. During a Bay Area Chamber of Commerce meeting Friday, June 20, McLaren Health Care officials shared the first details about the planned investment. The ambulatory care center will include a laboratory and advanced imaging center, primary care office with nine providers, a cardiology office with two providers, and rotating specialists’ office with two to three specialist providers each day, McLaren Health Care officials said. The facility also will include an orthopedic center with a pain management center and physical rehabilitation services.
