Exactly - we want to see real brick because we want to see the old world craftsmanship that original brick brings. As you said i its gonna look cheap anyways then just do precast brick stamped concrete and put those savings somewhere else on the building.
The sad part is this is LIUNA of all people - they SHOULD be aware of this. They represent laborers.
Bet they couldn't even recreate the original back architecture if they wanted to in this day and age.. *grumbles*..
