MARTA's proposed BRT line into Clayton County could open in 2030 and connect to Airport station.
Buses would travel between the Atlanta airport and Southlake Mall in dedicated lanes, except for some sections of the 15-mile route, with traffic signals prioritized for transit. Those features are intended to mimic the speed of rail at a fraction of the cost. However, MARTA would still need to finalize the design for the airport connection, pushing out the projected delivery date for the project, said Marcus Arnold, director of federal corridors and hubs for the agency.
