The AHL, the Q and the ECHL all failed in St. John’s. It’s too bad because I’m sure it’s a decent hockey market but yeah the relative remoteness probably doesn’t help.
As for the Lions, it’s not clear whether they’re moving away or not yet, but a junior team could easily occupy their nice and shiny arena.
